Not really a cover you’d have expected, but surely one you’ll appreciate, melodic house phenom Kav Verhouzer takes on Rihanna’s ultimate hit and does it justice. Not an easy fit, no doubt, but this house rendition of ‘Umbrella’ maintains its euphoric vocal-chopped chorus while crisp drums and lush plucks guide the beat. It’s simple yet joyous and effective, just what you need for a proper house tune. Though the true test will be if this anthem can hold on to next summer, because under the blazing sun by the beach is where this tune will seriously shine!
