For the past months I've been commenting good tropical house remixes of hip hop tunes on SoundCloud with the phrase "¡Viva la HipTrop!". HipTrop is a contraction of hip hop and tropical, since the 15 tunes in this mixtape are almost all tropical house remixes of hip hop or rap tracks. The originals range from 2015 back to the 90s, with double appearances by Jay Z, the late Notorious B.I.G. and the late 2Pac. The king of tropical hip hop, Norwegian Matoma, is featured twice. From his not so tropical country we also have Sjur and Dunisco, Edeema and Roommate.
Other featured Europeans are Frenchies Paxel and Otter Berry (a follower of Selected Sounds), Suntimechild from Germany and Le Boeuf from Denmark (another follower). At the other side of the ocean we find Viceroy (twice), Chordashian, N2N and Rad Stereo, who's also following Selected Sounds. Indeed I cannot hide a bit of happy pride.
